Is a Transition program really worth the time?

It's been a very long time since the last blog. Hopefully this blog is somewhat informative, insightful, something for you to read, or you just have another thing to complain about, or share it with others then complain out it.

You ever wonder what you're going to do right after you get out of High School? Usually; most people plan to attend College, or find a job, but those who have a disability might have more difficulty, and need a couple years in a set environment, like a transition program.

Is going to-through a Transition program helpful?
Not really, but that can vary on the individuals disability and how they function. If they are more then capable of taking care of themselves; they really don't need the program. Those who have a more difficult time thinking on their own, or aren't sure what they are capable, it's a good idea. However; if you feel out of place. The environment ins't really for you because there are other resources even without an IEP.

Some things may just take more time then others, and just require a bit more time to do things. If that's all that an individual really needs, there's really no point in going to a Transitions program. Having a College course, or working at a job; problems, things and situations all occur in different sizes and to different people. If you find yourself struggling, you can ask for help, or extra time, or even place that you have been hired, have their own resources.

Is a Transition program really worth it?
Not really, but then again it depends on how the person functions.
I hope you gain some insight, knowledge, and or experience about how a transition program may, or may not help someone.
